EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT

For me, education has never been about fitting a young person into a system - it's about building a system that fits the young person. As a previous headteacher of a SEN school, I've spent my career working with young people for whom the mainstream system simply didn't work: not because they couldn't learn, but because the environment around them wasn't built to help them succeed.

In my previous roles in the classroom and in leadership, driving and guiding the direction of travel, I've seen first-hand what happens when education is genuinely bespoke. When a curriculum, a classroom, and a relationship are shaped around a young person's needs rather than the other way round. That's where real progress happens: not just academically, but in confidence, in trust, and in a young person's belief that school can be a place where they belong.

I believe every young person deserves an education that meets them where they are. I’m excited to support RAISE-AP as an Educational Consultant to support the team in building the structures, the staff expertise, and the culture that make a truly bespoke provision possible - grounded in a deep understanding of SEND legislation, safeguarding, and inspection standards, but never losing sight of the individual young person at the centre of every decision.
