ALTERNATIVE PROVISION
ALLERGEN AWARE
At RAISE-AP we want to make sure our pupils with allergies feel safe at our provision. So, we’re asking everyone in our community to do their bit to become allergen aware. The Allergy Team have produced a fantastic guide, below, for parents and carers to find out more about allergies. You can also find our allergen aware policy on our policies page (click here).
Why is this important?
At RAISE-AP we have students with a range of allergies, and some of these students are at risk of serious harm if they have an allergic reaction, so we ask that everyone does what they can to help us keep them safe.
How can you help?

Avoid giving food that contains peanuts and tree nuts to your child to bring in to our provision and remind them that they shouldn’t bring in foods that contain anything with these in.
If students bring in food to share with friends (for example on cake bakes when raising money for charity) please:
Some great advice from The Allergy Team is If your child invites a friend over, ask them if they have an allergy, and contact their parents to discuss what their needs are. Try your best to exclude the allergen, not the child. If you have any questions or concerns about allergies, please do just get in touch with us.
